Berzerk rapper, Eminem landed his seventh consecutive number one UK album on Sunday night, as he picked up two prizes at last night’s MTV EMA Awards in Amsterdam.

The 41 year old musician, real name Marshall Mathers, became the first US artist to have seven consecutive records top the UK album chart. However, his collaborative single with Rihanna, The Monster, fell down the ladder after it was knocked off the top by US DJ Storm Queen’s hit track, Look Right Through.

Slim Shady also made history, Sunday night, becoming the artist with the most EMAs ever after taking home the prizes for Global Icon and Best Hip Hop act at the 2013 ceremony in Amsterdam.Yo, first of all, this is nuts. I just want to say thank you to everybody man; for everything over the years, all of you. MTV Europe, thank you,” he said to Will Ferrell‘s Anchorman alter-ego Ron Burgundy as he accepted the Global Icon gong. Making a reference to the 2004 comedy, he joked: ‘I love awards.’

Eminem also delighted fans by proving he has lost none of his spark as he took to the stage to perform Berzerk and Rap God – two tracks off his new album.

The singer’s performances at the event were confirmed earlier this week, with Bruce Gilmer from MTV saying: “A lot of thought goes into who could possibly be appropriate. This man, has sold over 80 million records. ‘I think everyone agrees, Eminem is one of the most creative and unique artists of our time.”

Other acts to take to the stage at the star-studded event included Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Katy Perry and Kings of Leon.
