Don Jazzy and Wande Coal both grown, both stars in their right, both role models to the general public, has failed us all. Dirty linens are in the open, and it stinks of stale fish, old socks, and immature actions.
Let’s begin with Wande Coal. It’s as clear as crystal that Wande Coal released a song in which the expertise of Don Jazzy was instrumental in making it come to light. On a harsher note, it can be assumed that he stole the song. Earlier this year, the ebony star had left the House Of Don Jazzy, Mavin Records. He probably received a long goodbye hug from the fatherly Don Jazzy, cleared his desk and his account, unraveled the contracts that previously bound them together, and made the long walk from Mavin Records to Black
Diamond Entertainment. Bless his hustling soul.
But somewhere in the trunk of his car, on a hard drive, was a song which he hid from his previous Dad. Breaking away, he went with “Baby Face”, a Highlife single, and now has proceeded to make it public, without even the slightest of credit to Don Jazzy. It is not right on many levels. It is wrong. In caps, it is screaming WRONG! He probably knew that, but whatever made him go that way, is comprehensible. It beats understanding that he stole from his Dad.
Our fatherly Don too, hasn’t covered himself in glory either. His actions do not speak of a man worthy of the title of Spanish nobility; Don. A whole Don Jazzy. When you’re called a Don, not just by your egotistical self, but by admirers, and the general public, you do not succumb to immature tendencies. Leave that to the Davidos, Wizkids, Waconzys and the Tiwa Savages who are a notch below you. You are a Don, not some whiny twitter juvenile who reads the comments from fans and rush into the bathroom to cry a tear or two. You are Don Jazzy. Our musical icon, with a finely groomed staff, and enough money to insure River Niger.
Taking the case to twitter was a sore mistake from the Don. He was supposed to put a fatherly call through to Wande Coal, his son, make him see the folly of his actions, and politely resolve the nagging issue over tea, or Champagne….or Alomo. If Wande had stalled on picking his call, a simple call to Wande’s Mom would have gotten the required result. Wande listens to his Mom, his mom loves Don Jazzy. Do the math.
Wande Coal was wrong to steal the song, Don Jazzy too was wrong to call him out on twitter. Their dirty linens hang in public, filled with stink, and attracting a total defamation of their character. The public and media are having a ball. Nothing feels as good as kicking a man when he leaves his arse in our face.
Next time they’ll listen to the wise old men. Their two wrongs, has begat a generation of wrongs. No one has come out looking good from this saga.
